Days 27 - 30 and next weeks homework

What an amazing fun filled week!  We started and ended with bats.  We learned bats are mammals (that means the babies stay in their mommy's belly and mommy's give their babies milk) and they are nocturnal (they do all their flying at night).  Some bats eat fruit, bugs, and even drink blood!

Days 18 - 22 and next weeks homework

In math, we are using dominoes to learn how to count.  We first drew our domino and then counted the dots.  Not bad for our first try!
We are still working on how to write our numbers and counting in order (left to right/ top to bottom).

Days 13 - 17 and next weeks homework

Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed!
We celebrated John Chapman's birthday by making a magnet, eating apples with Nutella and Apple butter, learning the parts of an apple, and the cycle of an apple.  Did you know an apple is first a flower (apple blossom) before it becomes an apple?

Also, this was our first week we made sentences!  Plus, we now know enough words to read some of our books!!

Magic is being made and I love it!

I'm ready for October...are you?

Days 8 - 12 and next weeks homework

What a fantastic week!

I began this week by introducing them their first letter... the letter "Mm".  The letter "Mm" makes the mmmmm (rub your belly) sound.

I also introduced them to their first 2 words (the & my).

On Thursday and Friday, we celebrated Elephant Appreciation Day.

Here are just some of the things they learned about elephants:

  • their trunk can grow up to 7 feet long
  • they live in herds
  • they use their ears to keep cool

Homework for September 17 - 21

Here it is!
Week of September 17 Homework

Days 3 - 7

What a great week!  I did the majority of the assessments so I am hoping to meet with all the parents before Open House on the 25th.  The KinderKids began to understand the importance of following directions (especially in a fire drill), we discussed what good and bad choices are after reading "No David!", we learned to share during center time, and sang lots of songs!  Next week is going be a doozy!!  We will begin with our first letter, "Mm", and we will learn our first 2 words!!
