The kids loved the final result!!

It was lots of fun!

Learning about our teeth (with eggs)

We used regular eggs from the supermarket to illustrate what is done to our teeth when we:
1. drink lots of juice, soda, and coffee
2. don't brush our teeth (vinegar)
3. drink milk and water

The results shocked the children!

Kids spell love T-I-M-E

Safe - Strong - Free!

The CAP program came to our class.  They discussed different ways we can be Safe, Strong, & Free

They talked about how to handle a classmate that is bothering you or is snatching/not sharing toys.

The children learned the correct distance to stay away from a stranger and how to yell and protect themselves if a stranger comes too close.

They also spoke about loving your body.  If someone is not making you feel safe, always tell an adult you trust. NEVER KEEP UNSAFE SECRETS!

Inexpensive glasses

Glasses can be pretty costly and if you have a child or if your child needs them, they will probably break them.  Face it....glasses are fragile and tooo expensive!

I found a website that, if you have your prescription completely filled out from your doctor, you will be able to purchase great looking glasses from $6-$36
Single vision, bifocals, & even progressive prescription types!

No gimmick... I have purchased 5 glasses and my husband has purchased over 10 glasses!

The only thing you have to make sure you have is the PD# on your prescription and buying these great looking glasses will be very simple!

Our March door (after)

Well...here it is! Our door!

We are all excited for Read Across America!

We will have one more display honoring Dr Seuss.

"A person is a person, no matter how small'

March is a huge month for literacy.

We celebrate Read Across America and we also celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Each PK - 2nd grade classes have to decorate their door with a Dr. Seuss book.  I was very fortunate to pick Horton Hears a Who.  This elephant is by far my favorite character!

Black History Month

We received visitors from a Newark charter school. They performed wonderfully!! There were drummers, a step team, & a small performance from the kindergardeners!!! They performed a short skit about Rosa Parks!! The wonders that can be done if you put your mind to it amazes me!!!

Our worms are here!!!

We just got our red worms (skinny ones) and night crawlers (earthworms) today!
While I was making their home I noticed these tiny balls. So I did some research and found out they are eggs!!

I am so excited!! We are going to gradually make a vegetable garden and these worms will make our soil rich!

Valentines Day ♡

Here was their present for Valentines Day.
I can't wait to find out how much they enjoyed their crayon heart!
They really do color my world!!

Some parents asked me how this was done so here are the instructions...
  • I cut up all their old crayons
  • I used a silicon baking mold and put the crayons pieces in each heart
  • I preheated the over to 350 degrees
  • The crayons were left in the oven for 15 min
  • After an hour of cooling, I popped them right out!

Before picture of our March door

March is a huge month for literacy.
We celebrate Read Across America and we also celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Each PK - 2nd grade classes have to decorate their door with a Dr. Seuss book.  I was very fortunate to pick Horton Hears a Who.  This elephant is by far my favorite character!  "A person is a person, no matter how small'!
So we used thick fadeless paper and made a transparency of the best page.  Mrs. Llerena, our classroom aide traced it.
Here is a before picture.  I noticed it was blurry buy the time it was almost done being colored.

100 Day Board

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school.  It is also Valentine's Day.  So I will have a very busy day ahead of me!  I asked all my parents to send in 100 items from their home. Then the munchkins wrote about what they would buy with $100.  You would be amazed what they wrote - it ranges from buying an Audi to giving it to their parents!  MY KINDER KIDS ARE AWESOME!!
