Today is the day of all days! It is Dr. Seuss' birthday!
I have taken so many pictures of what happened today!
We started the day with celebrity readers coming to our classrooms to read to the students! Our readers included former Roberto Clemente students, former Roberto Clemente teachers & principals. We even had firefighters!
Afterwards we ate green eggs and ham in the gymnasium! The students were hesitant but they tried it!
To add the icing on the cake, we had The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 visit the gym and the classrooms!!
At 2:00, we sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss while eating red and white cupcakes.
PLUS, since we won Perfect Attendance, we also had pizza in the afternoon! AND it was one of our classmates birthday - so we had cake also!!!
It was truly a wonderful day promoting literacy!
